'Tis the season... Interview Season, that is.

I have been talking about myself a lot lately. This is because I am interviewing for residencies. I am applying for Ob/Gyn residencies all over the U.S. (Ok, mostly in the South, because I'm spoiled by the great weather and don't want to leave!)

The interviews have been relatively benign. Most people just want to know who I am and what my goals are. And I could go on all day about my "interests" section of the application, which includes Gambling, Traveling, and Refinishing Furniture. My favorite part about the interviews is the free food. I love talking to nice people and eating yummy food. My least favorite part about the interviews is wearing a suit. That thing makes me feel so gross. They should interview us in scrubs, since this will be the uniform for the next 4 years.

I have also gotten to be quite a pro at airports and air travel. I pack the exact same outfits every time and have all the travel needs in my oversized purse (see Mom, I told you there's no such thing as "too big" when it comes to a purse!).

I can't wait til the big post when I reveal where I will be for the next 4 years. Stay tuned!

Halloween Peeve

Isn't a blog really a chance to give the world a piece of my mind? Well, that's what I'm going to do right now.

I'm sure everyone agrees that girls abuse the holiday of Halloween as an excuse to dress like a slut. This is a well-established pet-peeve of mine.

But this year, I think I have a new Halloween pet-peeve: people who dress-up their infants and make them trick-or-treat. These poor babies don't know what's going on. They are uncomfortable in their costumes and scared by the strangers. Plus, they can't even eat the candy. When they are old enough to say "Trick or Treat" and they can eat the candy, I will happily "ohh" and "ahh" at their cute costumes. But don't expect me to support it before then. What should a baby wear on Halloween? A festive onesie seems like the perfect choice!

And, don't even get me started on people who dress up their pets...

Catch Up

Holy Cow, I've been a slacker on the blog! Over a year since my last post! That's because 3rd year was so busy. There were rotations I loved (Urology, Ob/Gyn, Family) and there were rotations that were miserable (Surgery, Internal)--- it was the attendings that really made the difference. A great teacher makes you excited to learn and work hard for your patients. Hopefully I can be one of those teachers someday.

Now I'm applying for residency programs. Cross your fingers for some good interviews!

4th year is awesome- I'm actually having time to watch TV and hang out with Hubby on the weekend! I can't believe 8 months til graduation!

Ok, here's my written promise to blog more consistently this year.
